UNC-CH Koury Cistern
Inspection and Repair Plans
The underground pre-cast tank captures stormwater runoff to supply irrigation for landscaping. Constructed around 2010, it holds about 8,100 cubic feet of water. Continuous forced ventilation was required for entry into the tank to inspect it.
From inside the tank, A&O performed a hands-on, non-destructive visual inspection of the tank walls, floor, and joints. We reviewed design and construction documents and interviewed the original designers, contractors, and manufacturers of the tank. We provided a written report that included structure photos, sketches, a repair recommendation, and engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost. Ω
