Hydraulic Modeling and Bridge Replacements
As the hydraulic and structural engineer to WSP, Alpha & Omega Group served the NCDOT in Western North Carolina with hydraulic modeling and bridge replacements for 17BP.14 Group I in Division 14.
Structural and hydraulic services included developing culvert survey reports (CSR) and sizing aluminum box culverts for low maintenance and long life, as well as erosion control and permit drawings.
Alpha and Omega Group provided design recommendations to NCDOT and submitted models ensuring no adverse effects to non-FEMA regulated floodplains. Our designs for Bridge 190065 and Bridge 190036 were each single-span, aluminum box structures. Bridge 190036 is on Eastern Band Cherokee land, so additional administrative and review time was required. That bridge design was completed in 2019. Ω
